Designer Rugs are proud to announce their 4th edition of the EVOLVE AWARDS – with this years awards extending the reach for the first time to Asia, inviting a larger range of design professionals to take part in the competition. The winning rugs will form part of Designer Rugs EVOLVE COLLECTION 2019, (formerly known as the ID Collection). The winners from both EVOLVE and EVOLVE EMERGE have the chance to take home a prize pool worth over $30,000 AUD including a trip to Milan and their personal rug design to own.

We can’t believe it’s that time of the year again and this year we have created an open call out for all Australian and New Zealand designers based here and overseas, to submit their designs for selection for next years Milan Design Week 2019 exhibition.

The location for LOCAL MILAN No.4 will be housed within the same Palazzo complex as our 2018 show, directly next to the 5 Vie head office and press point. The building for the past few years has hosted the Diesel Living temporary showroom. This two level space will be completely transformed in regards to interior finishes,

Now in it’s 16th year, the LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL took place last week and LD’s Emma Elizabeth was in town to check out some of the highlights. With over 550 exhibitions and the city broken up into a series of districts, it’s impossible to see everything but here below are a series of her snaps, featuring the designers and their works that caught her eye.

We have been overwhelmed by the number of calls and emails in regards to what is on the cards for Milan Design Week 2019. So here is the gossip thus far, LD’s Emma Elizabeth is heading to Milan this month to meet with the 5 Vie committee in order to organise the exhibition and event for next year. Once all the information is gathered, with location confirmed and the creative direction decided on. LOCAL DESIGN will be creating an open call out, that will include all information in regards to the 2019 show and full application process.

With a focus on creative camaraderie, the Friends & Associates founders Dale Hardiman and Tom Skeehan celebrated Australian contemporary design within the walls of the industrial meat market Melbourne location.

Running over 3 days the showcase played host to the LOCAL MILAN No.3 Melbourne edit exhibition, along with exhibiting independent creatives from various disciplines including: furniture, lighting and accessories.
