Emma Elizabeth had the world of rugs put into her creative brain after submitting her designs into the Designer Rugs Evolve Award, with over 850 entries her ‘Round Diamond’ was selected as 1 of 6 designs to be produced for the ID Collection.
Looking to the world for a pre-existing form that reflected the intrinsic nature of the world of rugs, Emma Elizabeth’s instinct pointed her directly to the world of diamonds. She was intrigued to represent a subject that was, in reality, a hard object, but in this medium could be converted into a soft tactile surface.
Made from hand tufted 100% New Zealand Wool & silk the design can be custom-coloured and scaled to suite any project.
Living and breathing by her self-created ethos “design is nothing without style, and style is nothing without design”, Emma Elizabeth is a highly innovative designer and stylist. As a graduate in ‘Scenografia’ from Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy, a fusion course between interior design, industrial design and set design that allowed Emma Elizabeth to come directly back to Australia to set up her freelance practice and brand ‘Emma Elizabeth Designs’.
Her cross disciplinary approach to creative workings allows the designer to work within the realms of: Art Direction, Design, Styling, Experiential, Curation, Events, Production, Buying and Creative Conceptualization

Some highlights of the design journey for the ‘Round Diamond’ are: Top 10 Elle Decoration London Design Festival, published in VOGUE UK the Diamond Jubilee edition that lead to it being purchased and customised for a country home of one of the senior designers at Candy and Candy in London. They are also present in the homes of Napolean Perdis and a fabulous penthouse in New York.
