Ed Ko

Ed Ko is a Sydney based industrial designer and maker with a diverse background in design manufacture. A product of the TAFE system having graduated from the Enmore Design Centre, Ed then expanded professionally in the commercial furniture manufacturing and heavy engineering industries.

With this technical foundation he focused in on design by gaining experience freelancing for consultancies and private clients. This path developed in him a unique insight into what it is to be a “designer” in Australia.

Currently in an industrial design consultancy known for their creativity and diversity of clients; this is where he hones and keeps abreast of his multi layered design skills and knowledge. On the weekends he enjoys the tactile focus of woodworking; this is where he expresses his personal design philosophies of craftsmanship made accessible with modern manufacturing techniques and clever design.

His furniture pieces are refined, process driven experimentations that are always elevated by the beauty and functionality of traditional joinery details.
