MILAN DESIGN WEEK || COLOUR CASTING CONCRETE | ZONA TORTONA

The best thing about Milan Design Week is the thrill of the hunt, just when you enter a space to do a quick peruse & feel perhaps a sense of disappointment: BOOM. A diamond in the rough rises from the masses of petrified plinths and you rejoice in the designer re-telling their story. Base Camp Berlin

Berlin is the perfect city for a base camp for any creative soul. The city is scattered full of interesting spaces where creatives can basically hot desk hop their days away to allow them to work freely on their projects. We based ourselves during the week out of the Michelberger Hotel, in the lively district of Friedrichshain a stones through away from the famous East Side Gallery. This former warehouse is the perfect trendy but budget friendly hotel to happily work and live out of for the week. The downstairs reception and bar area is always a buzz whether you be working down there or drinking ( usually both at the same time ),

Not yet having landed a job in the industry like many of my fellow graduates, I left feeling disheartened. Bright and early the following morning I was on the job hunt. I was going to find my dream job in design! After all that is how it happens right?
