OUTDOOR GALLERY PROJECT – BRISBANE

Local Design | Brisbane From 9 December 2019 to 12 April 2020

Brisbane City Council’s Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane’s laneways and city streets into imaginative, curious and engaging spaces. Comprising light boxes, banners, vitrines and evening projections, the Outdoor Gallery displays art outside in city streets, instead of inside on gallery walls. Recently, the Outdoor Gallery has grown to now include art projections at Howard Smith Wharves.

Local Design | Brisbane

From 9 December 2019 to 12 April 2020, experience the Local Design | Brisbane exhibition curated by Local Design founder Emma Elizabeth.

“It’s hard to describe Australian design as it draws from so many cultures and influences. The objective of ‘Local Design | Brisbane’ is to present a collective of Australian design that will heighten the global perspective of our Australian aesthetic and style, encouraging and supporting local designers to continue raising the bar.” – Emma Elizabeth

Local Design | Brisbane celebrates locally forged designers with internationally recognised practices. Through a series of outdoor installations, guided tours and talks, the exhibition explores the design process, highlighting the intersection between process and product. Featuring Brisbane creatives: Shilo Engelbrecht, CJ Anderson, Alexander Lotzerstein, Anna Varendorff, Emma Elizabeth in collaboration with Sydney creatives Kate Banazi and Nick Barclay.

  1. The concept is amazing and we really liked how everything is pulled out very well. We’re pretty sure people must have enjoyed watching this.

Keep inspiring and creating all these things.

About the Blog

The LOCAL DESIGN blog is a creative visual diary with content created and contributed by leading local and offshore creatives and designers.

We want the creative community to hide their inhibitions, let their hair down and showcase whatever their eclectic heart’s desire. From the projects they are working on, the places they are visiting, their childhood memories, what music they are listening too, whatever makes them tick, it is a complete open online creative platform. Go on we dare you to pick up a camera and tell us your stories….

Along with this open-minded approach to the blog we will also be reporting on global and local design weeks, events, exhibitions, shows etc. with raw and real visuals alongside interesting insider perspectives.

We are very excited to see what will happen on these pages……
