MILAN DESIGN WEEK | DIMORESTUDIO | BRERA

DIMORESTUDIO celebrated their ten year anniversary in the presence of this years Salone in Milan. The two designers Emiliano Salci and Britt Mortan were the talk of the town presenting their new collection PALMADOR2015  within the Brera Design District in their usual appartamento setting. Simplicity in suggestions. Purity of colour. Mistakes in colour. Reminiscences of decor. Softness of step. Magic of sound. Glow of the lights. Transparency of the shelves. Vertical reflection. Uncontaminated green. Gold opulence. Elegance of cranes. Progetto PALMADOR showcased six special objects created to become “icons” of the evolution of the aesthetic language for years to come. We totally have “designer amore” for the DIMOREGALLERY space.

One part of the designer pair from DIMORESTUDIO, Emiliano, with a very excitable moving foot pose, his cheeky flamboyant demure & presence totally worked the space.

The boys live by this particular quote from Giò Ponti (1973)……….
“I cherish the dream of a living, silent house which models itself on the versatility of our lives continually, indeed fosters it with a hundred resources that we architects will teach to enrich with walls and furniture which are light and movable. This will make the house variable and, in the same breath, full of memories, hopes and courageous acceptances: a house ‘to be lived in’ when we have good fortune and even in melancholy”.

It is the visible fusion of design, art and fashion, in the duo’s “unique edition” format that keeps everyone coming back to see them each year. Their never before used finishing techniques of embossing, silver pigmentation and synthetic lamination overlays within their “capsule” collection of textile prototypes, really echoed their journey over the past ten years. Their fabric showcase was made up of a total of sixteen proposals, twelve geometrically themed jacquares and four ornate prints, divided, in turn, into five colour families of reds, greens, blues, golds and silvers. The strong graphic prints were selected from original art deco archives then enhanced with pure silk backgrounds.

The duo are also the designers behind one of Milan’s new “it” restaurants Ceresio 7 , found on the top floor of the historical Enel building which now houses the head office for the fashion house Dsquared2. Dean and Dan Caten from Dsquared2 worked heavily with Storage Associati for the architectural development and the layout, then for the interior design they worked in synergy with DIMORESTUDIO. We dashed to Ceresio 7 on a particular night in Milan, where out of nowhere, torrential rain and hail drenched our designer decks. So we watched from the terrace bar facing the pool gazing out onto the modern skyline of the brand new Financial District, while snacking on Chef Elio Sironi’s selection of yummy goods. The attention to detail within the space is super special, the atomizers used for the cocktails really caught our eye. We wish we took some photos but we were too drenched and excited to sit down in such a beautiful setting for drinks & nibbles. DIMORESTUDIO definitely know how to create dreams and memories through their incredible varieties of design.
