F&A presented the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING…
With a focus on creative camaraderie, the Friends & Associates founders Dale Hardiman and Tom Skeehan celebrated Australian contemporary design within the walls of the industrial meat market Melbourne location.
Running over 3 days the showcase played host to the LOCAL MILAN No.3 Melbourne edit exhibition, along with exhibiting independent creatives from various disciplines including: furniture, lighting and accessories.
SKEEHAN STUDIO >> Designer Tom Skeehan created the Nave Chair upholstered in Maharam leather by Geordie Ferguson of Stellen Studio, alongside the So light in handblown glass.
ADAM and ARTHUR >> A collaboration between industrial designer Adam Goodrum and marquetry artisan Arthur Seigur, combines to talents to create the Bloom Cabinet.
KATE BANAZI and TOM FEREDAY >> Gilded Cage Screen by KB in diachronic perspex and Tom Fereday’s limited edition Sia Chairs in solid forged Aluminium.
ACV STUDIO >> Anna Varendorff designed oversized brass vases.
LOCAL DESIGN’s Emma Elizabeth worked with the boys to place and stylise the pieces within the raw setting, with a low-fi take on scenography. Reflecting on A.G.Ms visual identity, the idea to extend the relationship of their office/boardroom direction pushed through the sets, in the way of layered scattered A4 paper. Some what of a metaphor, seeing the paper symbolising a throw away approach to admin and rules of corporate protocol.
SKEEHAN STUDIO / ANDREW CARVOLTH / EBONY HEID >>> Tom Skeehan’s SO Light, NAVE Chair and Hoshi Rug Sora. Andrew Carvolth Mila Vases and Ebony Heid’s Wheel.
MADDIE SHARROCK and BROOKE HOLM >> Ceramic sculptures by Maddie Shamrock flanked in front of landscapes by photographer Brooke Holm.
TOM FEREDAY / RYAN MCGOLDRICK / ADAM MARKOWITZ / ALISON JACKSON >> Sia chair by Tom Fereday tucked under Adam Markowitz’s Fred Table with Alison Jackson’s Brass Scoops above illuminated by Ryan McGoldrick’s Marly light.
Many thanks so our sponsors and supporters for this event including: Kvadrat Maharam, Avion Australia, Max & You and Evo Style. Also a mega thanks to Dale Hardiman and Tom Skeehan for your hard work and dedication to the advancement of this incredible industry.
